BMW launches high performance X5 M diesel to broaden the X5 model range, which is doing quite well
BMW has launched another performance oriented variant of its popular X5 SUV in the form of the X5 M Sport. The BMW X5 M Sport is powered by the same 3.0 litre straight six turbo diesel engine that does duty in the standard BMW X5 diesel, but with a higher power output of 258bhp and peak torque of 560Nm. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system. The BMW X5 M Sport is capable of going from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 230 km/h.
The BMW X5 M Sport is visually distinguished from the standard model with an aerodynamic body kit sporting aero blades, air breather and air curtains. The vehicle also gets M light alloy wheels, matt black kidney grille, sporty side contours, adaptive LED headlamps and lots of M badges. The car has been availed in a choice of three colours, namely, Alpine White (non-metallic), Space Grey and Carbon Black. Overall, the X5 M Sport looks lower than the standard car in keeping with its nature. Inside, the vehicle gets an M leather steering wheel, heads-up display and comfort seats.

The BMW X5 M Sport has been priced at Rs. 75.90 lakh, ex-showroom.
