BMW has introduced the redesigned X5 SUV in the country, with a modified outward appearance, updated interior components, and a mild hybrid system. The redesigned SUV will be offered in xLine and M Sport trim levels, with prices starting at Rs 93.90 lakh and going up to Rs 1.06 crore (ex-showroom). It will also be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Roof rails and external trim made of shiny metal are offered as standard with the xLine variant. The M Sport model, on the other hand, features trapezoidal exhaust tips, a sharper bumper, and glossy black roof rails. According to industry reports, the luxury automaker will produce the model domestically at its plant in Chennai. 2023 BMW X5: Powertrain
The BMW X5 comes with both petrol and diesel engine choices for 2023 – a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 376bhp and 520Nm of torque and powers the xDrive40i, and a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 282bhp and 650Nm of torque and powers the xDrive30d model. These units come with an all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automated gearbox.
Further, both engines receive an electric motor with 12bhp and 200Nm of torque. The claimed acceleration times for the diesel and petrol engines to reach from 0 to 100km/h are 6.1 seconds and 5.4 seconds, respectively. According to the manufacturer, the top speeds of the petrol and diesel models are 250km/h and 233km/h, respectively.
2023 BMW X5: Exterior & Interior
The SUV sports a new exterior design, which includes a rear bumper, lighted kidney grille, new taillights, and matrix-adaptable LED headlights with blue accents. M high-gloss Shadowline trim, a front apron that is exclusive to M, and black roof rails are all included in the M Sport trim. Moreover, its rear apron now features dark shadow-coloured inlays and trapezoidal exhaust tips. The SUV gets 21-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Aside from this, the updated interior of the cabin has a curved display, which includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which runs on the most recent version of iDrive 8.0. The car also has a panoramic sunroof and an augmented reality heads-up display.
In terms of features, the X5 also offers four-zone climate control, Harman Kardon surround sound system, ambient lighting, glass highlights for touch surfaces, M Leather steering, etc.

As far as market competition is concerned, the 2023 BMW X5 rivals the likes of the Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
