BMW has quietly added the M Sport variant to the X3 – priced at Rs. 54 lakhs ex-showroom pan India.
Even with the official India debut of the all-new X3 just a month away, BMW thought it right to add a variant to the current generation model. The German car maker only had the xDrive 20d Expedition trim on sale so far, now the company has also introduced the M Sport variant. The X3 xDrive 20d M Sport costs Rs. 54 lakhs (ex-showroom pan India) – Rs. 4.9 lakhs more than the Expedition trim. So, what do you get for the additional moolah?
Being the top-spec trim, the M Sport comes with a longer list of features. The fully loaded SUV comes with a larger 8.7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit in place of a 6.4-inch unit on the Expedition. Additionally, this infotainment also has a 20GB hard drive for storage of music and maps. The integrated infotainment is paired with a 205W nine-speaker system. Interior upholstery options include Leather Nevada Beige and Mocha.
The M Sport badge brings with it quite a few additional fitments that give the car an aggressive character – M aerodynamics package, sports seats for the front and rear passenger, M Sport door sills, individual headliner anthracite, high gloss shadow line and more. To distinguish it from the Expedition, this new variant also has M Sport badges on the left and right of the front wings.
Mechanically, the M Sport is the same as the Expedition. Powered by a 2.0-litre diesel motor, the X3 M Sport too makes peak power output of 187bhp and max torque of 400Nm. That being said, in addition to the EcoPro, Comfort and Sport, this one also has the Sport+ mode. The M Sport trim comes fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels instead of Expedition’s 17-inch rims.
BMW has launched the xDrive 20d M Sport with four colour options to choose from – metallic red, space grey, carbon black and alpine white.
