The BMW X3 is in for a mid-life makeover. The changes will be skin deep and also expect a few features to be added into the mix. The update will make the SUV marginally more expensive.
BMW recently launched the iX all-electric SUV in India. The brand has also promised to introduce the i4 Gran Coupe electric sedan in India by mid-2022. However, the stopgap between the two may be the facelifted BMW X3.
Reports online are suggesting that BMW is likely to launch the updated X3 in India by January 2022, with deliveries starting from the following month.
The updated BMW X3 will sport a tweaked fascia. The bumpers on either end will sport some reprofiling. However, the overall appearance of the SUV will largely be the same. Expect, new and larger set of wheels shod with low profile run-flats. The cabin will feature some tweaks as well.
As this is a mid-life update, the engine and the platform will be the same as the outgoing BMW X3. The SUV will continue with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel motor and the state of tune will be the same as well. The gearbox on offer will be the same eight-speed auto unit.
The petrol X3 will be tuned to push out 248bhp and 350Nm of torque, whereas, the diesel model will churn out 187bhp and 400Nm.
Currently, the BMW X3 is priced between Rs. 57.90 lakh and Rs 64.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The model is available with two petrol variants and one diesel variant.
The updated X3 is likely to continue with the same variant break up, but the prices are expected to go up by roughly Rs. 2 lakh across the range. Other options in a similar pricing range are Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
