The X1 has been a major volume seller for BMW, with 7,00,000 cars delivered since it was first launched in 2009. And to keep up with the times, BMW has decided to give this SUV a major revamp.

The front of the second-gen X1 is defined by the iconic BMW kidney grille, with LED headlights coming as standard. Customers can choose from two non-metallic and 11 metallic exterior paint finishes, with Estoril blue reserved exclusively for the M Sport model.

Speaking of the interiors, the seats are clothed in colour combination of Anthracite/Black with interior trim stips in Oxide colour. A 6.5 inch iDrive Control System also comes standard with the SUV.

Under the hood, customers can choose between one petrol and three diesel engines, each with 2.0 litre displacement. Depending upon the choice, power output can vary between 150 and 231 bhp.

The new BMW X1 goes on sale in October, starting with Germany. It remains to be seen when the German luxury car maker decides to bring this compact SUV to our shores.
