BMW, which recently launched the 2 Series Shadow Edition at Rs 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), is gearing up to introduce a quartet of new models in the Indian market. On July 24, 2024, the company plans to launch the 5 Series LWB (Long Wheelbase), Mini Cooper S and Mini Countryman E four-wheelers, as well as the CE 04 electric two-wheeler. The bookings for the first three models are underway; prospective buyers can make reservations for the same either online or at authorised dealerships.
The BMW 5 Series LWB is slated to replace the old 5 Series and the 6 Series GT, while the Mini Cooper S and Countryman Electric will be launched as new-generation models. BMW will also bring its first all-electric scooter – the CE 04. Here's what we know so far:

BMW 5 Series LWB
The new BMW 5 Series LWB debuted in mid-June in the country. At launch, it will join the 3 Series Gran Limousine and the 7 Series as the third long-wheelbase sedan in the company's India line-up. While the 5 series LWB will be offered only in a 530Li M Sport variant, it remains to be seen what powertrain options the sedan will get.
At 5,175mm in length, the new BMW sedan is the largest car in the segment, even larger than the upcoming long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The latter is expected to go on sale sometime in the current FY2025 and, once launched, it will directly rival the BMW 5-Series LWB. Expect the upcoming BMW vehicle to cost more than Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mini Cooper S
The Mini Cooper S will arrive in a fourth-generation guise. Mini will offer the new Cooper S with a petrol powertrain first, with the all-electric Cooper EV to follow later this year. Under the hood, it is expected to carry the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine as the outgoing version, but in a different state-of-tune. Even the transmission will be the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit. Design elements will include a new octagonal grille, circular LED headlamps, adjustable light signatures, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and triangular LED tail lamps with adjustable OLED tech. At the same time, the cabin will feature a round 9.45-inch OLED touchscreen displaying information related to travel, navigation, and battery status.
Mini Countryman Electric
The new Countryman Electric will make its way here as a third-generation model. Upon arrival, the India-spec car is expected to be equipped with a front-mounted electric motor, rear-wheel-drive arrangement. While the all-electric Countryman sits on the same platform as the BMW iX1, it shares its exterior bits with the new Cooper S, namely an octagonal grille, configurable LED daytime running lamps (offering up to 3 lighting signatures), and revised headlights & tail lamps. The commonalities between the upcoming Countryman E and Cooper S models continue inside as well. Mini currently retails the petrol-powered Countryman in our market at a starting price of Rs 48.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the all-electric version to be priced more than that.
BMW CE 04
Along with these four-wheelers, BMW will also launch its first electric scooter called the CE 04. Powered by an 8.9kWh battery, the scooter is said to have a range of 130km, while the top speed is marked at 120km/h. The battery pack needs about 4 hours and 20 minutes to fully charge from 0 to 100 per cent, and 3 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 per cent.

The CE 04 will be sold alongside the C400 GT and is anticipated to cost around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
