Bridging the gap between performance and luxury, BMW launched its M6 Gran Coupe, which will reach the markets as a CBU unit, in the Indian market today.

Increasing the number of cars in its M portfolio, BMW today launched its M6 Gran Coupe in India at a price of Rs. 1.71 crores. The car will deliver the performance, which the M badge is synonymous with, with an unmistakable blend with luxury and refinement. Some of the design elements include large air intakes, new adaptive LED headlights and M-specific double-bar kidney grille. All this is complimented with neat-looking front wings with hallmark M grills, the side skirts and the exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels, a rear apron with integrated diffuser insert, two sets of M-specific twin tailpipes and the M6 logo on the boot lid.

The interiors of the car also talk of the same design philosophy as the outside. The door sill flaunts the M logo, the perfectly contoured seats and the bespoke colour combinations of upholstery look and feel extremely premium. Motor sport-style shift paddles directly on the steering wheel allow the driver to engage all seven gears without having to lift his foot off the accelerator. The new BMW M6 Gran Coupe also features two M Drive buttons on the steering wheel for pre-programmed configurations for either a sporty or a comfortable drive.

The new BMW M6 Gran Coupe will be powered by a twin-turbo eight-cylinder petrol engine which delivers 560bhp and 680Nm of power and torque respectively. The twin-turbo, eight-cylinder petrol engine clubbed with the intelligent BMW Efficient Dynamics technologies delivers a fuel efficiency of 10.10km/l of petrol. The M6 Gran Coupe will sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds and the top speed has been limited to 250km/h.

Commenting on the car’s launch, Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India, said, “Impressive power, outstanding technology and the true sensation of motor sports can be expressed in one single letter: M. The BMW M6 Gran Coupé has already set a new benchmark with the flawless balance of power, dynamics, comfort and luxury that is typical of M models. The new BMW M6 Gran Coupé is poised to write a fresh chapter in this success story, fuelled by a perfect symbiosis of motorsport DNA and exclusivity. The new BMW M6 Gran Coupé reinstates the leadership of BMW M GmbH in the high-performance luxury segment.”

The BMW M6 Gran Coupe provides safety with six airbags, Active M Differential, M Dynamic Damper Control, M Dynamic mode, M Compound Brakes, Active Protection with Attention Assist and Active headrests (front).
