A camouflaged test mule of the updated BMW iX has been seen overseas ahead of its global debut, which is planned for early 2025. The test mule seems to sport various cosmetic changes including a lighted grille border, redesigned LED light units, a wider front splitter, and altered bumpers (front and rear). The luxury carmaker hasn't disclosed any information, but industry sources suggest that the redesigned electric SUV may hit international shores soon after the debut. It could get some noticeable modifications under the skin for improved range, mileage, and performance.

BMW iX Facelift: What's More?
Along with some cosmetic changes, the SUV's current range including the xDrive40, the xDrive50, and the M60 could be replaced by the new xDrive45, xDrive60, and M70 variants. These models will function in the same manner as their predecessors but with greater effectiveness owing to electrical and mechanical advancements. They are also expected to generate more power. The M70 variant may match the performance of the i7 M70 that is currently available in various markets, including India.
BMW India Updates
The BMW 5 Series LWB recently made its debut in India, following its global debut in May of last year. The sedan will be on sale here on July 24, with prices ranging from Rs 85 lakh to Rs 1 crore. It will be the third long-wheelbase sedan in the company's India portfolio. In India, the new BMW 5 Series LWB will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X3, Audi Q5, E-Class, and Audi A6. It will have a 14.9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a wireless phone charging pad, and an ADAS package. Other noteworthy features include a panoramic sunroof, near-invisible seam vents, ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, matrix LED headlights, and an eighteen-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system.

BMW has not provided any clear information about the powertrain. Industry reports, however, indicate that the sedan will initially launch in the 520d and 520i configurations, followed by the 530d and 530i in M-Sport versions. For all powertrains, a ZF-sourced eight-speed AT will be available to drive the rear wheels. It is predicted that only the new M5, which is slated to arrive in 2025, will come with xDrive.
