The ten millionth BMW 3 Series sedan, which rolled off the assembly line earlier this month, was handed over to its owner at BMW Welt in Germany.
The year was 1975 when the first BMW 3 Series was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show. That time no one imagined that this would mean the beginning of an era for the guys at Bavarian Motor Works, and that the 3 Series will become a cult across the globe.
The latest milestone in the 40 years of the success story is the delivery of ten millionth BMW 3 Series sedan to its owner at BMW Welt, which is a ‘multi-functional customer experience and exhibition facility’ situated in Munich.
When XaverBittl, who owns a driving school in Eichstätt, reached the BMW Welt he had no idea that his car is the ten millionth 3 Series sedan in the entire world. He was not only welcomed by the workers who helped make the car, but also by Hermann Bohrer, Head of the BMW Group plant in Munich, and Helmut Käs, Head of BMW Welt Munich.
Commenting on the delivery of the ten millionth vehicle, Helmut Käs commented, “The handover process is a unique experience for our customers. That was very evident today. The handover of the ten millionth BMW 3 Series sedan is a special occasion for the company. We are delighted to have been able to provide the ideal setting for such an exclusive event.”
