BMW India adds some sporty flavour to the existing 3 Series variants.
BMW India is now offering a limited-edition version of the 3 Series in India. Billed as the Shadow Edition, the new version will be available in both petrol and diesel variants in India. Prices of the Shadow Edition start at Rs. 41.40 lakh for the 320d Edition Sport variant (Rs. 1.20 lakh more expensive than regular version), while the petrol derivative, which is based on the 330i M Sport, retails for Rs. 47.30 lakh – an increase of Rs. 2.10 lakh over the variant it’s based on. All prices are ex-showroom.
Changes on the outside include a high-gloss Kidney Grille, smoked headlamps and tail-lights, 18-inch wheels and blacked-out chrome exhaust tips. Inside, there are a few updates as well. The Shadow Edition features red and black seat upholstery. The limited-edition version also gets the new 10.5-inch all-digital instrument cluster. Among other features, there’s an 8.7-inch infotainment screen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, a head-up display, rear parking camera and special M-trim car key.
There are no mechanical upgrades, meaning Shadow Editions of both the 330i and 320d are unchanged from the standard models. The 330i is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol that churns out 248bhp and 350Nm of torque. The 320d, on the other hand, is propelled by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit that develops 188bhp and 400Nm. Both the engines come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the rear wheels.
