BMW India has launched the new 2 Series 220i M Sport Shadow Edition with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 46.90 lakh. For the uninitiated, the company recently launched the shadow edition of the X3 SUV. The 2 Series Gran Coupe Shadow Edition adds elegant updates to the brand's entry-level luxury sedan lineup. The model will be locally produced at the German automaker's Chennai plant and will cost roughly Rs 3 lakh more than the standard variant. BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition: Styling Cues
The 220i M Sport Shadow Edition has several aesthetic upgrades, such as exterior blacked-out components. It has a boot-lip spoiler, a black kidney grille, darker inlays within the adaptive LED headlights, and floating BMW hub caps for the wheels. There are two paint jobs on offer for the limited edition model: Alpine White and Skyscraper Grey. The M Sport package, similar to the standard 2 Series M Sport, features M badging on the side gills, the M Aerodynamics package, and M badging on the key with black inserts.
BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition: Interior and Features
The Shadow Edition's interior has unique Illuminated Berlin inside trim, ambient lighting, carbon-finished gear selector, and Sport Seats with memory function. A total of six dimmable shades are available for the ambient lighting. The model further has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. In addition, it features six pre-programmed hand gestures for infotainment system management, a head-up display, BMW's virtual assistant, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and wireless charging.
BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition: Safety Features
As far as occupant safety is concerned, the 2 Series Shadow Edition is equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with brake assist and six airbags as standard. Other safety features come in the form of electronic differential lock control (EDLC), dynamic stability control (DSC) with traction control, ISOFIX anchorages, attention support, and Park Assist with a rearview camera.
BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition: Powertrain Options
On the mechanical front, a 2.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine, which produces 187bhp of maximum power and 280Nm of peak torque, powers the front wheels of the BMW 2 Series Shadow Edition. The unit is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. Furthermore, the car can go from 0 to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds.
