Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: VinFast has made its debut in the Indian market with the launch of the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs at the 2025 Auto Expo. The company has to announce the prices for these models and plans to compete in the premium electric vehicle segment. To support its operations, VinFast is planning to build a factory near Chennai.
Founded in 2017, VinFast is part of Vietnam's Vingroup and offers a range of electric vehicles, including the VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9. In its home market, the VF 3, a compact two-door electric vehicle, is a popular choice. In October 2024, the company delivered 11,000 electric vehicles, bringing its total sales for the year to 51,000 units. Currently, VinFast operates in 12 countries across three continents. Its entry into India marks a new step in its global expansion, targeting one of the fastest-growing electric vehicle markets.

VinFast VF 6, VF 7: Design
The VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs feature an aircraft-inspired design with a cockpit-style cabin. Both models include a wide moonroof that spans edge to edge, offering a prominent design element.
The design approach for the VF 6 and VF 7 focuses on simplicity and functionality. The front of the vehicles includes LED daytime running lights positioned above the main headlights. Despite being electric vehicles, both models incorporate a honeycomb grille, which adds a distinctive design touch.
VinFast VF 6: Features and Powertrain
The VinFast VF 6 offers a range of 400km (WLTP target) on a full charge for the Eco version. This variant produces 171 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The Plus version has a range of 381km (WLTP target) and delivers 198bhp and 309Nm of torque. It also features a 12.9-inch touchscreen for infotainment.
VF 7: Features and Powertrain
The VinFast VF 7 is expected to be one of the first models launched in India. This five-seater electric SUV is powered by a 75.3kWh battery pack and can cover up to 450km on a full charge.
The VF 7 is available in single-motor and dual-motor variants. The single-motor variant powers the front wheels, producing 201bhp and 310Nm of torque, with a range of 450km. The dual-motor variant offers all-wheel drive, generating 348bhp and 500Nm of torque, with a range of 431km. Both variants use the same battery pack.

The VF 7 comes with a 12.9-inch touchscreen in the single-motor version and a 15-inch touchscreen in the dual-motor version. Both variants are equipped with a Level-2 ADAS suite.
