Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: Maruti Suzuki debuts the e-Vitara for the first time in India at the 2025 Auto Expo. Production is set to begin at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant, with sales planned for Europe, India, and Japan soon. The e-Vitara is based on the eVX concept, first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. It used the 'Heartect-e' platform, which was developed in collaboration with Toyota. This platform offers a lightweight structure and advanced safety features, including high-voltage protection. A key advantage of the Heartect-e platform is its efficient use of space. By removing underfloor members, it maximises battery placement while maintaining structural integrity.  Expected to compete with the Hyundai Creta, the e-Vitara is likely to be priced at around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Design

The e-Vitara features a bold, modern design. The front includes sharp LED headlights with three-piece DRLs, a blacked-out bumper, fog lamps, and silver skid plates, giving it a strong, rugged look.

The side profile showcases alloy wheels, body cladding, and rear door handles integrated into the C-pillar. At the rear, LED tail lights, a shark fin antenna, and a roof-mounted spoiler enhance its streamlined shape.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Interior

The e-Vitara features a three-tone interior with a clean, squared-off dashboard design. It has dual integrated screens—one for the infotainment system and one for the digital driver display—creating an intuitive driving experience. The new two-spoke steering wheel, a first for Maruti, adds to its contemporary look.

The e-Vitara comes with a range of advanced features, including a 10.1-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and connected car technology.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Powertrain

The e-Vitara will use a new skateboard platform developed in partnership with Toyota. Globally, the electric SUV is available with two battery options: a 49kWh pack with two-wheel drive and a 61kWh pack that supports both two-wheel and four-wheel drive. While the configurations for the Indian market are yet to be disclosed, it is confirmed that the e-Vitara will offer a driving range of over 500km on a single charge.
