Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 9, its flagship electric model, at this year's Auto Expo in India. The electrified Hyundai is available in both six- and seven-seat configurations. The second and third rows provide 2,050mm of legroom and 1,899mm of headroom. The captain's chairs in the second row can be rotated when the vehicle is stationary. Additionally, the first two rows feature a massaging function. Moreover, there is a new adjustable console, the Universal Island 2.0, which can be moved up by 190mm and accessed from the second row via bidirectional adjustable armrests. This console offers a storage capacity of 12.6 litres in the lower sliding tray and 5.6 litres in the upper tray.
The trunk offers a capacity of 620 litres, which expands to 1,323 litres when the third row is folded down. The front trunk has a maximum capacity of 52 litres in AWD models and 88 litres in RWD versions. Other key features include an 8-speaker sound system (with an optional 14-speaker Bose system), roof-mounted air vents, multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12-inch digital instrument display, ambient lighting, and 100W USB-C connectors in all three rows of seats.
Hyundai Ioniq 9: Battery and Range
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 features a 110.3kWh battery and is available in two variants: Long-Range and Performance. The Long-Range model offers both RWD and AWD configurations, while the Performance variant comes with standard AWD. The RWD version of the Long-Range is powered by a 215bhp, 350Nm motor mounted on the rear axle, achieving a 0-100km/h time of 9.4 seconds and an 80-120km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds.

The AWD version includes an additional 94bhp, 255Nm front motor for enhanced power and traction, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds and 80-120km/h in 4.8 seconds. The Performance AWD model, which is the most powerful, boasts 215bhp on both axles and can reach 0-100km/h in just 5.2 seconds, with 80-120km/h acceleration in 3.4 seconds.
Hyundai Ioniq 9: Design
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 showcases a more traditional SUV silhouette with a square design and a tall, upright stance. The front is marked by a closed EV grille, accented by a black strip that holds a continuous LED light bar. The headlights feature linear LED clusters with pixelated touches.
The side profile presents a gently sloping roofline, body-coloured side mirrors, and flush door handles. Silver roof rails add an extra design touch, while the SUV is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels as standard, with optional 20-inch and 21-inch sizes available. The rear design includes vertically stacked LED taillights with pixel detailing, merging into a high-mounted stop lamp on the tailgate, and a black accent strip running across the tailgate and side panels, enhancing the cohesive styling.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is offered in a selection of 16 exterior shades in international markets, including Celadon Gray, Sunset Brown, Cosmic Blue, Abyss Black, Snow White, Gravity Gold, and Biophilic Blue, among others.
