Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: The BMW iX1 LWB comes with a wheelbase of 2,800mm, compared to the 2,692mm wheelbase of the standard model.

Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: BMW has rolled out the iX1 LWB (Long Wheelbase) at the Auto Expo 2025, priced at Rs 49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). This model presents a larger version of the original compact electric SUV, offering enhanced space and additional features. BMW asserts that it is the country’s first electric SUV with a long wheelbase. When it comes to exterior styling, the iX1 L closely resembles the standard iX1, with the primary distinction being its extended wheelbase. The iX1 L features a 2,800mm wheelbase, while the regular iX1 has a 2,692mm wheelbase. Marketed as a high-end electric option for traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) SUVs in its category, it seamlessly integrates BMW’s renowned driving performance with cutting-edge electric technology. The premium German carmaker has commenced the deliveries of the e-SUV.

BMW iX1 LWB: Mechanical Details

The BMW iX1 is available in the eDrive20L M Sport variant, featuring a 66.4kWh battery paired with a single PMSM motor that generates 201bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer a range of 531 km on a full charge.

For faster charging, a 130 kW DC charger can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes, adding around 120 km of range in just 10 minutes. Using an 11 kW AC charger, it takes about 6.5 hours to reach a full charge from 0%. The SUV also comes with an 11 kW wall box charger for home use.

BMW iX1 LWB: Cabin and Features

The iX1 L’s interior mirrors that of the iX1 xDrive 30, featuring a prominent freestanding widescreen display that combines the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. The air vents are arranged in an asymmetric design, contributing to a distinctive cabin feel.

As for its features, the iX1 L comes equipped with advanced elements like adaptive LED headlights, electrically adjustable front seats with massaging functions, 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless phone charging, a premium 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof, ensuring a high level of luxury and functionality for its occupants.

Coming to the safety suite of the new model, the iX1 boasts amenities such as park assist, Multiple airbags, a rear parking camera, along with driver assistance system including cruise control with brake function and forward collision warning.

The vehicle is offered with a standard two-year warranty that covers unlimited kilometres. Starting from the third year of use, extended warranty options are available, up to the sixth year, with no mileage restrictions. The warranty can also be extended further for up to 10 years or 2 lakh kilometres. Additionally, a complimentary 5-year BMW Roadside Assistance is provided, available 24/7 for added peace of mind.
