The passenger vehicle (PV) manufacturers began 2023 on a high note, with impressive sales figures for the month of January. This came after the segment saw record sales in the calendar year (CY) 2022. Experts believe that demand for cars in the country will continue to strengthen in the coming months, giving rise to even higher sales numbers. In keeping with the last year’s pattern, Maruti Suzuki has had a strong start this year as well, with seven of its models appearing on the top 10 best-selling vehicles list in January. The Alto, which once again topped the charts last month, was followed by the WagonR. Tata Motors continues to benefit from the great appeal of the Nexon and the Punch SUVs. Now, let's take a closer look at other models that have made the list.

The smallest hatchback from Maruti Suzuki, the new generation Alto, was once again at the top of the list in January 2023.
