Following the reveal of the new Bentley Mulsanne comes an even more opulent version of the car in the form of this Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner
Mercedes-Maybach off late have been stealing the thunder when it comes to long wheelbase limousines. At the ongoing 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Bentley in association with Mulliner has taken the veil off an extended wheelbase version of its new Mulsanne uber luxury saloon in the form of this – the Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner.
This Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine is hand crafted by Mulliner in Crewe, England. The Mulsanne limousine is one metre longer than the standard car and 79mm taller. The highlight of the car of course is the interiors that feature a private aviation style face to face seating layout. The original brief while building the car was to create a four seating layout with equal comfort for all passengers. Adding to the air of opulence inside the Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine is the leather trimmed cabin with a handcrafted wood-veneered roof bow. The Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner is also the first Bentley to get the company’s electrochromic ‘smart glass’ cabin division window as well as the rear cabin window to change from clear to opaque at the touch of a button.
Considering the larger cabin, Mulliner has worked on the HVAC system of the car to ensure optimum performance. The interior comes equipped with iPad charging and docking stations, wood veneered dials showcasing UK time, local time, outside temperature, veneered fold out tables, a bottle cooler with frosted glass and crystal flutes, and a soft drink cabinet with bespoke tumblers. There is also an intercom system to communicate with the driver and unique controls for the rear features.
On the outside, this piece of motoring extravagance is finished in a dual tone paint theme featuring Silver Frost shade on the top section and Moroccan Blue lower down. The car gets a new front grille and lower air dam while the Flying B mascot gets the words ‘Coachbuilt by Mulliner’ engraved on it. The new colour matched 21 inch wheels also stand out. The chassis and suspension of the car have been reengineered to guarantee the highest degree of passenger comfort and safety.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, comments: “The Mulsanne Grand Limousine showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of our in-house coachbuilder, Mulliner and exemplifies the way in which our experts consult with a customer to turn their vision into an extraordinary reality. The attention to detail, quality, creativity and skill applied to every Mulliner commission is truly unique in the automotive world.”
