Bentley Motors has announced a recall for some models of its Bentayga in USA over potentially loose trim bolts used to fasten seat mechanisms and dashboard panels.
Bentley has issued a recall in the USA for its Bentayga uber luxury SUV over a few bolts that may not have been tightened to specification. These potentially looses bolts fastening seat mechanisms and dashboard panels may not have been tightened to the correct torque. The defaulter in this case happens to be the system used to store torque values in the car which is said to have missing or implausible data which suggests that some bolts were not tightened to the correct torque. This theory was later confirmed to be true and a recall has been issued on the same regard.
Vibrations can loosen these trim bolts overtime which can lead to rattles and potentially increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident. Bentley Bentayga owners whose vehicles maybe affected by the recall in the US will be contacted on the matter by dealerships for the vehicles to be brought in for examination. Following which the bolts will be tightened to the correct specification.
A total of 378 units of the Bentley Bentayga manufactured between March 1 and September 30th of 2016 have been affected by the recall out of which 88 units are suspected to have bolts not tightened to the correct specification.
No such announcement has been made on the matter in India.
Bentley launched the Bentayga in India during April 2016 at Rs. 3.85 crore ex-showroom Delhi.
