Auto Shanghai 2025: MG Cyber X Electric SUV Concept Revealed with Pop-Up Headlights, Full-Width LED Light Bars

MG has pulled the wraps off the second model in its Cyber lineup—a bold, boxy-styled electric SUV. Called the Cyber X, the concept is finished in an eye-catching Stardust Gray shade and has modern design cues, including classic pop-up headlights. It also sports sleek LED fog lamps and illuminated MG badges, complemented by full-width LED light bars at both the front and rear. The Cyber X rides on dual-tone alloy wheels that complement its sharp road presence, while its clean, flowing bodywork—with minimal lines and creases—highlights a sleek, futuristic design. Notably, the SUV was designed under the direction of acclaimed automotive designer Josef Kaban, known for his work on the iconic Bugatti Veyron. Read on to know more about the MG Cyber X EV.
MG Cyber X Electric SUV Concept: What’s More?
The MG Cyber X is reported to be based on SAIC's latest E3 electric platform, a flexible base designed for a wide array of vehicles and drivetrain configurations. This architecture employs SAIC's CTB construction, integrating the battery into the body for improved rigidity, reduced weight, and enhanced efficiency. The SUV is also said to come equipped with MG’s new Zebra 3.0 operating system. The Cyber X's specific technical and battery details are not yet available.

Cyber is a sub-brand of MG that aims to cater to younger, tech-savvy buyers, beginning with a strong foothold in China. The Cyber X marks the second entry in this emerging lineup, following the Cyberster—which is set to go on sale in India soon, with an estimated price tag of around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
Other Highlights at the Shanghai Motor Show
Alongside the Cyber X Concept, MG debuted the Cyberster MY 2026 and Cyberster Black 101st Anniversary Edition at the motor show in China. The MG Cyberster has significantly increased China's electric sports car market share to 10% and become the world's best-selling electric coupe with over 3,000 global deliveries. The all-new iteration offers new Iris Blue and Andes Gray exterior finishes, refined Red/Black or Gray/White interiors with matching trim, and a wind deflector that cuts cabin turbulence by 90%.

A special Cyberster Black 101st Anniversary Edition featuring a gloss black and chrome finish is now available, while an upcoming Cyber GTS hardtop version is set to join the lineup soon.
