Auto Expo 2023: Kia has finally unveiled the new-generation Kia Carnival (KA4) in India. The automaker has been teasing the model on its social media channels for a long time now. The outgoing version, which made its debut at the previous iteration of the biennial auto show, will be replaced by the latest fourth-generation model. The new Kia Carnival's exterior includes body-coloured cladding, a completely new grille with brushed silver inserts, headlamps built into the grille section, new rectangular projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, wraparound two-piece LED tail lights, a brushed silver insert on the tailgate as well as dual-tone alloy wheels. For the overseas customers, the new Kia Carnival is available with three engine options - a 3.5-litre V6 MPi petrol, a new 2.2-litre Smartstream, and a 3.5-litre GDi V6 Smartstream.
While the 3.5-litre petrol engine generates 268bhp of maximum power with 332Nm of peak torque, the 2.2-litre and 3.5-litre Smartstream motors deliver 290bhp with 355Nm and 199bhp with 440Nm of maximum output, respectively. In India, the model will be powered by the current 2.2-litre diesel engine, which generates 200bhp and 440Nm. Its transmission functions will be handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
