Auto Expo 2023: MG Motor India is anticipated to unveil the MG4 EV at the Auto Expo 2023, which is currently on sale in Europe. Rumours are going on in the industry that the EV will be the brand's major highlight at the upcoming Auto Show in India. Besides MG4 electric hatchback, the updated versions of the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs will also be the British automaker's two most significant debuts at the long-running event. The carmaker has been in the headlines for quite a while as the interior and exterior of the upcoming MG Hector Facelift have been spotted several times ahead of its launch in India. Now, the carmaker is again in the limelight for reportedly bringing the internationally-revealed EV to India. Let's know what the upcoming model has in store for customers in terms of powertrain, features, and more.
Powertrain and Dimensions
There will be two battery packs powering the upcoming EV - a 51kWh and a 64kWh. The former will produce a power output of 170bhp whereas the latter will dish out 203bhp of maximum power with the same 250Nm of torque output. The 64kWh battery pack is anticipated to offer a WLTP range of 452 Kilometres. The EV will sport a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup. In terms of the dimensions, the electric model will be nearly the same size as the MG ZS EV offered here at 4,287mm in length and 2,705mm in wheelbase.

Exterior
The MG4 EV exhibits crossover design elements in terms of appearance. It has sharp edges, sheer surfaces, and a few other characteristics that appear to have been influenced by the MG Cyberster roadster. It will boast sharp headlights with LED Daytime Running Lamps. Also, its front bumper will have multiple angular insets, a central air inlet, and more LED lighting components. The EV's rear end features an angled tailgate, a huge two-part roof extension-cum-spoiler, and a full-width taillight assembly with LED graphics.
Interior
The EV's interior comprises the dashboard with two floating screens - a 7-inch digital driver's display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system situated in the centre. The dashboard's AC vents are hidden and the centre console stands out because it has a rotary dial and a wireless charging station.
Prices
In Europe, the price of the EV starts from € 28,990 (Rs 25 lakh approx). We still have no update regarding its price for Indian customers. The upcoming Auto Expo could be the platform for the manufacturer to introduce the EV into our market followed by the price announcement.

In other news, the MG Hector Facelift has been spied again, offering a sneak peek into the interior. The images of the interior showcased a new multi-layer dashboard made up primarily of leatherette materials. The new MG Hector Facelift will get a larger 14-inch touchscreen compared to the 10.4-inch on the outgoing model. The vertically-positioned 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the cabin will be the highlight of the model with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
