Lexus introduced the new RX for the international market earlier this year, however, Lexus India just shared a teaser of the SUV. The fifth-generation RX has a more advanced design than its predecessor. The spindle grille that has become synonymous with Lexus is what gives the nose its distinctive look; it is flanked by slimmer headlights that have sharp DRLs. The SUV still has a roofline that resembles a coupe, and the window line continues into a blacked-out area on the C-pillar. In comparison to the present model, the wheel arches are also more rounded. Around the back, a built-in spoiler stands above the rear window, and the taillights are connected by a full-width lightbar.
The interior of the SUV has undergone design modifications as well, with a new 14-inch touchscreen serving as the centre of most in-car functions and being neatly integrated into the centre console. With the overall design providing the cabin a considerably cleaner aspect, the driver also receives a digital display in the instrument binnacle. With a wheelbase that is 60mm longer than the previous generation, space should also be more than before.

The new RX globally offers options for petrol, powerful hybrid, and plug-in hybrid engines. The RX 350h uses a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine in conjunction with an electric motor, while the non-hybrid RX 350 has a turbocharged petrol engine. A brand-new RX450h+ plug-in hybrid is now available, and the top-of-the-line RX500h is the first Lexus to offer a turbo-petrol engine that works in tandem with electric motors.
In India, Lexus may continue to sell the RX with powerful hybrid powertrain options, while it is unclear whether the standard petrol and plug-in-hybrid variations would be available.
