Auto Expo 2023: Kia India has revealed the Kia EV9 Concept at the Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida. Even though the model was made public at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, the company has fully showcased the model for the very first time in India at the ongoing Expo 2023. The structure of the recently showcased Kia EV9 is the same as the flagship electric vehicle, the Kia EV6. Powering the concept will be a 77.4 kWh battery pack. The battery pack in this car is a lot bigger than the Kia EV6's. The battery will enable the EV to go about 540 kilometres. Dimensionally, the concept EV is 4,929mm in length, 2,055mm in width, and 1,790mm in height. Since the Kia EV9 will be constructed on the company's E-GMP platform, its wheelbase is restricted to 3,100mm. The same architecture underpins both the Kia EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV.
In terms of design, the Kia EV9 boasts a muscular front end and a futuristic design. Additionally, it sports a blanked-out panel that is illuminated by LEDs as well as a Z-shaped configuration of headlights. The exterior has a boxy appearance and seems like a typical SUV. The vehicle's back uses the same design language, including a large bumper, vertical LED taillights, and sharp edges. The interior of the Kia EV9 concept boasts eco-friendly elements including natural wool yarns, recycled plastic, fishnet scraps, and plant-based materials. The concept also gets the three-row configuration and ambient LED lighting.
