Auto Expo 2023: Build Your Dreams (BYD) debuted has finally debuted the much-anticipated luxury sedan in India. The BYD Seal is the third model in the brand's portfolio in India after the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD e6. Reportedly, the firm will launch the model in the second quarter of 2023, and deliveries of the same will commence in October. The Ocean X concept vehicle from 2021 serves as the design inspiration for the new BYD Seal electric sedan. The vehicle has an all-glass roof, split headlights, and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). It features flush door handles and alloy wheels with diamond cuts. The rear features a full-width LED light bar running across the body, along with similar accents.

The electric sedan will have a 61.4 kWh battery pack along with an option of an 82.5 kWh battery. It will sport an all-wheel-drive system and in just 3.8 seconds, the BYD Seal will accelerate from 0 to 100km/h. According to the manufacturer, the new-gen electric sedan boasts a range of 700 kilometers on a single charge.
Similar to the BYD Atto 3, the Seal will have a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment display in the centre console and a driver-facing 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. Air conditioning vents surround the main touchscreen, which is encircled by a scroll wheel and driving mode choices. The centre console also has standard buttons for things like the heated windscreen and audio volume as well as two wireless charging pads.

BYD has also launched the limited edition of the BYD Atto 3 at Rs 34.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Only 1,200 units of this limited edition would be sold in our market featuring a new ‘forest green’ colour. The standard variant of the BYD Atto 3 comes with a price of Rs. 33.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). BYD will commence deliveries of the Atto 3 in January. Since its release, the BYD Atto 3 has sold more than 220,000 units worldwide. In December 2022 alone, 29,468 units of the BYD Atto 3 were sold in India. The model received a five-star safety rating from the Euro NCAP. Overall, BYD sold nearly 1.86 million passenger vehicles in 2022, boasting an increase of 155.1% from the previous year.
