Auto Expo 2023: Lexus has unveiled the brand-new RX hybrid luxury SUV in India at the ongoing mega auto show. The all-new RX, which is currently in its fifth generation, will come in 350h and 500h F Sport versions with self-charging hybrid (strong-hybrid) powertrains. In the lineup of the automaker, it will sit between the NX and full-size LX SUVs. Bookings for the Lexus RX can be placed right now, and it will go on sale in March 2023 with delivery starting in April. The midsize SUV from Lexus now boasts a more developed appearance that gives it a sportier and more aggressive look. Its front grille features a distinctive spindle design that is exclusive to Lexus SUVs. Massive air dams, a sculpted bonnet, a sloping roofline, slim LED DRLs, and enormous linked LED tail lamps are among the other design highlights.
The Lexus RX 350h Luxury is fuelled by a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission; when combined with the strong-hybrid system, it produces 244bhp. It comes with two powertrain options: front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with the former capable of a 0-100km/h acceleration in 8.1 seconds and the latter capable of the same in 7.9 seconds.

The higher-performance RX 500h F Sport Performance sports a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed automated transmission. It can produce 361bhp and 460Nm of torque thanks to its robust hybrid system. It comes equipped with all-wheel drive and has a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.2 seconds. In the new RX SUV, Lexus used a high-power bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery.
The interior of the 2023 Lexus RX includes a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, ADAS, a digital rearview mirror, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera. While Android Auto still requires a wired connection, Apple CarPlay provides wireless connectivity. The seats in the SUV are covered in vegan synthetic leather to increase the interior's sustainability.

The SUV's price could start at Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom), and it would compete with vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz GLE, the BMW X5, and the Audi Q7.
