The eagerly anticipated Audi Q8 e-tron has finally arrived in the Indian market. For those unaware, the Q8 e-tron is an updated model of the e-tron – Audi's first electric SUV, and it comes in both standard SUV and Sportback coupe SUV versions. Luxury automaker Audi India is getting ready to launch the Audi Q8 e-tron with a 20 per cent boosted battery pack, in what can be described as a significant step toward addressing electric vehicle range concerns among Indian consumers. With a 114kWh battery pack, it will offer a range of 582 kilometres for the SUV and 600 kilometres for the Sportback body style.

Audi Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback: Battery and Range
The Q8 e-tron’s 114kWh battery pack offers a range of up to 600 kilometres (WLTP cycle). It drives the two electric motors, which collectively churn out 402bhp of maximum power and 664Nm of peak torque. Further, it can attain 100km/h from a standstill in 5.6 seconds, according to the manufacturer. The Q8 e-tron comes with a 22kW AC charger from the firm and supports up to 170kW of DC fast charging. Audi states that using the former, the Q8 e-tron can be fully charged in six hours. The Q8 e-tron can reportedly be charged from 0 to 80 per cent using the DC fast charger in 31 minutes. The Q8 e-tron continues with charging ports on either side of the vehicle, just like the previous generation model.

The Q8 e-tron receives blacked-out grille surrounds, as part of the makeover, which extend below the headlights. A light bar, to reflect light downwards, is added to the top portion of the modified grille, which also sports a new mesh pattern and an updated monochromatic logo of Audi. A new front bumper, with wider air intakes on either side, has been fitted to the Q8 e-tron as well. The Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback now have 20-inch alloy wheels, although the overall profile hasn't changed much. Both also have 'Audi' and 'Q8 e-tron quattro' lettering on the blacked-out B-pillar. The only alterations to the rear, on the other hand, are a revised bumper and new Q8 badges on the tailgate.

The Q8 e-tron's cabin layout is similar to that of the previous e-tron. It gets motorised front seats with memory function, along with heating, ventilation, and massage capabilities. There are two touchscreens in the centre console – a 10.1-inch display for the infotainment system and an 8.6-inch display for most of the car's controls, including the HVAC. The Q8 e-tron receives the same digital instrument panel (Audi refers to it as Virtual Cockpit Plus) as its predecessor. Other features include a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, four-zone climate control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Audi Q8 e-tron, Q8 e-tron Sportback: Competition Check
The Mercedes-Benz EQC was recently discontinued, making the Jaguar I-Pace the main competitor for the Audi Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback in the Indian market. In the upcoming weeks, Audi is expected to launch the Q8 e-tron, giving Indian customers a brand-new electric SUV choice to opt for.
