Audi India has launched a new version of their popular compact-SUV, the Q3. Known as the Audi Q3 Dynamic, the the new version is now the flagship model of the Q3 lineup in India. Packed with increased levels of standard equipment, the Audi Q3 Dynamic now features Audi Drive Select, 17" alloy wheels, off-road style package, panoramic sunroof as well as the traditional Quattro all-wheel drive system as standard. With all this equipment as standard the Audi Q3 Dynamic comes at a price point of Rs. 38.4 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), making it a pricey proposition.
Additionally, the Audi Q3 Dynamic also features a re-tuned suspension that has been further tweaked by the boffins at Audi to suit Indian road conditions better. The company claims that with these tweaks, they have found the right ride and handling balance for the Q3 in the Indian market. The Audi Drive Select system on the other hand offers customers the choice to choose between Comfort, Dynamic and Auto modes to suit their mood and driving style. These modes effect changes to the engine mapping, power delivery, gearshift urgency and the weight of the steering. And, the Q3 Dynamic also offers three new paint shades - Florett Silver, Mythos Black and Monsoon Grey.
Speaking about the Audi Q3 Dynamic, Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India said “The Audi Q3 is the only true compact luxury SUV in India which offers quattro® all- wheel drive. The legendry quattro® technology not only adds to the off-road capability of the car but also provides more traction and enhances driving pleasure. The Audi Q3 Dynamic with Audi Drive Select is yet another example of our customer centric approach. We have further fine-tuned the suspension to meet Indian road conditions and offer the right balance between ride and comfort.”
The timing of the launch is also quite interesting, as it comes right before Mercedes introduces its compact-SUV in the market - the Mercedes GLA - in a few weeks time. Naturally, with the competition hotting up, the manufacturers are trying every trick in the book to attract consumers.
