The Audi A6 e-Tron will make its debut globally as a fully electric model in late July 2024 and will be based on the new Premium Platform Electric architecture, which also underpins the Porsche Macan and the Audi Q6 e-Tron. First showcased in its concept form in April 2021, the production-spec version of the A6 e-Tron is likely to feature a conservative design in line with the company's combustion line-up. Spy shots of the prototypes of the upcoming EV reveal that it will have split headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The enclosed grille with inset vents may closely resemble that of the Q6 e-Tron crossover. Other expected bits include a rakish roofline and a full-width LED lightbar at the back.
Audi says the upcoming A6 e-Tron will be the 'first electric Audi available at launch in Sportback and Avant body styles', with the third-generation Audi Q5 to follow in late 2024. The new Q5 will begin the 'rejuvenation' of the company's SUV portfolio with combustion and partially electrified versions.

Audi A6 e-Tron: Interior
Inside, the A6 e-Tron is expected to borrow a lot of design elements from the Q6 e-Tron, which means that it is likely to feature an 11.9-inch driver display, a 14.5-inch Audi MMI Navigation Plus infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch passenger screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with dynamic ambient lighting and an augmented reality head-up display.
Audi A6 e-Tron: Powertrain
As mentioned before, the car will be based on Porsche and Audi’s new PPE platform. Audi is expected to offer a dual-motor setup initially, which is likely to be followed by a single-motor version. In concept form, the Audi A6 e-Tron makes 463bhp and 800Nm of torque. We will have to wait till late July for the company to disclose the output numbers of the production-spec model.
The EV is also likely to feature the same 100kWh battery pack with a WLTP range of 700km that powered the concept car. The model could support up to 270kW of fast charging with its inbuilt 800V charging capacity. Adaptive damping and air suspension are also on the cards.
