There is a new, more affordable variant of the Audi A4. The new price point has helped the sedan penetrate the market space that is usually occupied by full-size seven-seat SUVs.
Audi India has introduced a new affordable variant of its A4 sedan. The new variant is called ‘Premium’, which has been positioned below the ‘Premium Plus’. The new affordable ‘Premium’ variant of the Audi A4 has been priced at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Despite being the most affordable variant, the new Audi A4 Premium still packs features such as an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, lumbar support, four-way lumbar support, heated ORVMs with anti-glare, and six airbags.
The Premium variant also gets a sunroof, Leather/Leatherette upholstery, single-tone ambient lighting, and single-zone climate control.
The infotainment system on offer is a 10-inch unit with Audi’s smartphone interface, MMI, and parking aid plus system. The car also gets a wireless charger. The headlamps and taillamps are all-LED units.
Following are the ex-showroom prices of all the variants of the Audi A4 sedan:
Audi A4 Premium - Rs 39.99 lakh
Audi A4 Premium Plus - Rs 43.69 lakh
Audi A4 Technology - Rs 47.61 lakh
There are no changes to the powertrain and transmission. The engine is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor, which puts out 187bhp and 320Nm. The gearbox is the same seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
The pricing of the new Audi A4 makes it a strong contender in the segment. It is not only substantially more affordable than its rivals but it's only Rs 4.14 lakh more expensive than the top-of-the-line Skoda Superb L&K. Not to mention the price of the Toyota Fortuner Legender is also in the same ballpark.
