Another first for Audi as they launched the first compact luxury convertible in the segment, the A3 Cabriolet. This open top four-seater is a completely built unit and is priced at Rs 44.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The A3 Cabriolet is 4421 mm in length, shorter than its sedan sibling, 4456 mm, but it still remains spacious from the inside.It comes with a lightweight soft-top, which is made of high quality fabric, and roof the folds in less than 18 seconds.
The A3 Cabriolet rolls gets a 1.8 litre petrol engine with direct injection and turbocharging and has an output of 180 hp, which can produce 250Nm of torque. The 40TFSI mated with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The Cabriolet can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and has a top speed of 242 km/h.
From the front, it looks exactly like the Audi A3 sedan, which is a good thing as it continues to look dynamic. The diamond-design Audi Singleframe grille, in high-gloss anthracite with frame in matt aluminium adds to the distinctive stance of the car. The integrated rear bumper spoiler imparts a sharp rear look. The tail lamps are of a split narrow design to add on to the sporty appearance. The aggressive looking S line package is standard on the A3 Cabriolet to enhance the dynamic character.
The extended rear overhang plays a key role in the harmonious proportions of the two-door car. The bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights give the face of the car a resolute look. The air intakes and bumper further emphasise the width of the Audi A3 Cabriolet.
