Aston Martin and Red Bull will make a Hypercar together with Adrian Newey. A new Hyper Aston is on its way soon.
Aston Martin and Red Bull will make a new Hypercar that they claim will be quicker than an F1 car around Silverstone. This news comes in tandem with the announcement of that the British marquee has signed a technical deal with Red Bull Racing.
For now, Red Bull Racing gets an Aston Martin logo sticker on their F1 car for the 2016 season. However, Aston Martin will make use of, ten-time world champion Formula 1 designer, Adrian Newey’s brilliant mind together with Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer, Aston Martin’s gorgeous styling abilities to give birth to a brand new, road legal, Hypercar by 2018
“We are in the process of developing a hypercar that combines the latest in aerodynamics from F1 and the stunning design language of an Aston Martin sports car,” said Reichman. “The opportunity to collaborate with Adrian (Newey) and Red Bull Advanced Technologies will be a fascinating experience for everyone involved. Unconstrained by F1TM regulations, we have a unique chance to create a car in its most efficient form that will represent the ultimate fusion of art and technology.”
Newey said: “From the age of six I have had two goals in life – to be involved in the design of racing cars, and to be involved in the design of a super car. Whilst the former ambition went on to form my career to date, the latter has always bubbled away, resulting in countless sketches and doodles over the years. The opportunity to now develop and realise those ideas whilst working with Marek and his colleagues from Aston Martin is tremendously exciting. It allows us to translate the technology we have developed in F1TM into a new arena.”
The codename of the Aston Martin Hypercar for now is AM-RB 001. Apart from the swooshy green flowing lines in the image above, no other image of the currently non-existing car has been revealed or its technical specifications.
With the brand new 5.2-litre 600bhp twin turbo V12, we expect the AM-RB 001 to get the same one for the new hyper car, of course with more power. With neweys F1 background, its impossible to rule out if Aston Martin will or will not use similar hybrid technologies used in Formula 1 in addition to the V12 engine.
