The limited-edition, hand-built AMR-C01 racing simulator mirrors the seating position of an Aston Martin Valkyrie and features an all-carbon fibre monocoque.
Aston Martin, in partnership with Curv Racing Simulators, has developed its first-ever AMR-C01 racing simulator for retail customers. The AMR-C01 will appeal to all virtual racers who want the ultimate Esports experience.
Designed by Aston Martin and hand-built by Curv Racing (led by Aston Martin works driver and simulator specialist Darren Turner), the AMR-C01 runs the latest version of the Assetto Corsa video game. It features a super-lightweight carbon fibre monocoque and its bodywork (at the front) is shaped to remind onlookers of the signature Aston Martin Racing grille. Plus, the simulator's seating position mimics that of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar, for a more authentic racing feel.
Sharing his thoughts on the AMR-C01's development, Marek Reichman (Chief Creative Officer - Aston Martin) said, 'This was a challenge for the design team as, although the simulator isn’t a car, it is inspired by our racing cars. It needed to exude the same elegance, boasting the same dynamic lines and balance of proportions as any Aston Martin with a racing lineage.'
To this, Darren Turner added, 'We modelled the driving position on the Aston Martin Valkyrie so users of AMR-C01 can get the full hypercar experience. I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve, with design and engineering creating what I believe to be the most beautiful home simulator available.'
Limited to just 150 examples, the AMR-C01 is priced at an eye-watering £57,500 (₹54.5 lakh, approx.), before taxes. Units booked now can expect delivery in Q4 2020.
