More than 10 cars will be sold at India’s first classic and vintage car auction held on 21st November
From RM Auctions to Bonhams, auctioning of classic and vintage cars is a norm in the automotive market. But there’s never been an auction for classic car enthusiasts in India so far. That, however, is about to change with Astaguru organising the first-ever classic and vintage car auction in India on 21st November. While a lot of owners choose to sell their valued possessions personally or via word of mouth within their enthusiasts’ circle, Astaguru has now given them a new platform that will fetch them the best deal in the market. Organised online, this auction will be headlined by a 1947 Rolls-Royce Wraith. The auction will commence at 10 AM on 20th November and conclude at 08:30 PM on 21st November.
The auction will have a variety of cars in a wide price range – from a relatively affordable Hindustan Motors Ambassador Mark 1 to the aforementioned Rolls Royce. A 1963 Fiat 1100 Super Select and a 1936 Chrysler Airstream will be some of the other showstoppers. A 1951 Styline Deluxe will also be auctioned. This car has recently completed a long road trip from Mumbai and Rajasthan and back. The most interesting car, however, has to be the 1937 Morris 8 sedan – a car once owned by renowned artist M F Hussain.
There are a lot of classic car enthusiasts in India, and these sorts of auctions can give them the right platform to showcase their possessions. That being said, at auctions, prices of some rare cars tend to shoot above the value it holds in the market.
