Reborn British sportscar maker, TVR, will be launching an all-new V8 powered sportscar in September 2017.
Iconic British sportscar marque, TVR, is all set to make a comeback at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed. And it plans to do it in a big way since the firm will be launching a brand new sportscar at the opening day of the event on September 8, 2017.
While details about the new TVR sportscar are sparse at the moment, there are a few things that have been officially revealed by the company. The upcoming TVR will be powered by a Cosworth-sourced 5.0-litre V8, and it will weigh 1,200kilograms with a power to weight of 400bhp per tonne. If you can do a bit of calculation yourself, you’ll come to know that the engine will produce around 480bhp. Performance is going to be brisk as a result – TVR claims 0-100km/h will be done in just about 4 seconds. Not only that, the sportscar is claimed to have a top speed in excess of 320km/h.
We don’t have much info on how the new TVR will look, but it’s confirmed that it’ll be built around a lightweight carbon-fibre chassis. Apart from the carbon fibre skeleton, the bodywork should be a work of art, we think. Given TVR’s heritage and the fact that it’s created with inputs from Gordon Murray Design, it’s going to be quite a looker, we think.
TVR will launch ‘500 Special Launch Edition’ cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and they will be priced under 90,000 British pounds. Bookings are open for the new TVR sportscar, although the company will soon close the order book. Post the launch, TVR will start taking the orders back again.
