About two weeks ago, Mercedes-Benz launched the AMG G 63 Grand Edition in the Indian market. With a production run of only 1,000 units, the luxury SUV carries an introductory price of Rs 4 crore (ex-showroom). Of these, 25 units, reserved exclusively for the existing Maybach, AMG, and S-Class customers, were sold out within 6 minutes after bookings were opened, according to Mercedes-Benz. The Grand Edition is a limited-run version of the AMG G 63, which is available in India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model. It is a part of the TEV (Top-End Vehicle) segment of Mercedes-Benz India, consisting of the AMG E53 Cabriolet, AMG G 63, Maybach GLS 600, S-Class, S-Class Maybach, and EQS luxury EV. Striving to increase brand desirability, these top-end vehicles were instrumental in contributing to the company's sales of 12,768 units, dispatched in the January-September period. With this, the company posted a growth of 11 per cent year-to-date in comparison to 11,469 units sold in the same period last year.

However, deliveries of the SUV range – the GLA, new GLC, and the GLS – were delayed due to supply chain constraints, particularly in the third quarter of this year, claimed the carmaker.
