Alfa Romeo plans to reveal its first 'Sport Urban Vehicle' in April next year. Before this much-anticipated announcement, numerous rumours were circulating on the internet about the name of this Italian automaker's new offering. However, the firm recently ended such speculations by revealing that the forthcoming SUV will be known as the Milano. The nameplate pays homage to the automaker's birthplace— Milan —, and was previously used for the brand's rear-drive 75 sedan car marketed in North America. Industry sources state that the car will have two versions: a fully electric and a mildly hybrid gasoline. With this, Alfa Romeo will make its debut in the electric vehicle market. Although the specific details regarding the SUV are scarce at this moment, we expect more details to emerge as we move closer to the global debut next year.

Alfa Romeo Milano: Some Key Highlights
The upcoming Milano will be the manufacturer's entry-level model, situated beneath the Alfa Romeo Tonale in the product spectrum. Presumably, it will employ the CMP/eCMP architecture that will put it on par with the additional sub-compact SUVs and hatchbacks maintained across multiple Stellantis brands in the B-segment of the European market. Regarding the platform's seamless connectivity, it has proven to work with different drivetrains that include entirely electric, mildly hybrid, and gasoline-powered. On a mechanical front, the new Alfa Romeo vehicle will be offered in both all-electric and mildly hybrid configurations, as already stated.
As with the electric version of the Milano, the company is going electric for the first time, the details of this model are drawing a lot of curiosity all over the world. Although no formal announcement has been made, the EV is expected to be available in both single-motor, front-wheel-drive (FWD) and dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions. According to the automaker, the forthcoming Milano, like the Tonale, will be the first big step in the manufacturer's electric progression and play an important role in growing its international footprint.
Alfa Romeo Milano: Market Availability
The Milano will reportedly go on sale in Europe in September of the following year. Its electric version will hit the market first, and a few months later, the gasoline-powered PHEV version will follow. By 2027, Alfa Romeo wants to be a fully electric vehicle company. Now, it remains to be seen how its new electric vehicle will impact its sales globally.
