The EV4 shares design DNA with the EV6 and EV9, featuring a modern front end with vertical headlamps and Kia’s signature Star Map lighting.
Kia made a bold statement at the New York Auto Show with the US debut of two upcoming electric models – the 2026 EV4 sedan and the K4 hatchback. Positioned to expand Kia’s growing EV lineup, the EV4 arrives as a compact, design-forward alternative aimed at rivals like the Tesla Model 3, while the K4 brings a sporty edge to the hatchback segment. Both vehicles showcase Kia’s evolving design language and underscore its commitment to accessible electrification. With production-ready styling and a focus on technology, the duo reflects Kia’s strategic push in the US market, combining innovation with everyday practicality. Their reveal at one of the country’s biggest auto shows highlights their significance in the brand’s roadmap for electric mobility.
Drawing from Kia’s 'Opposites United' design philosophy, the all-electric EV4 compact sedan embraces a bold aesthetic shaped by contrasts found in nature and the human experience. Sharing core design cues with the EV6 and EV9, the EV4 sports a modern front fascia highlighted by vertical headlamps and Kia’s signature Star Map lighting, a defining element of the brand’s EV identity. Unique to its segment are small cube LED headlights with Dynamic Welcome Lights, while a reimagined Tiger Face grille lends a tech-forward, confident character.
The EV4’s sleek, fastback roofline, low nose, and long-tail silhouette create a sporty stance, mirrored at the rear with vertical taillights, a two-piece roof spoiler, and a sculpted bumper. Standard 17-inch aero wheels or 19-inch GT-Line alloys enhance its planted, athletic presence, with the GT-Line further distinguished by exclusive styling elements.

The Kia EV4 is anticipated to launch in three trims – Light, Wind, and GT-Line. Built on Kia’s dedicated 400V E-GMP architecture, the EV4 offers two battery choices: a 58.3kWh pack for the Light trim and a long-range 81.4kWh pack for the Wind and GT-Line variants. Both configurations power a 201bhp front-mounted motor, driving the front wheels. Estimated driving ranges come in at 378 km for the Light trim and 531 km for the Wind and GT-Line. When using DC fast charging, the EV4 can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in around 29 minutes (Light) or 31 minutes (Wind/GT-Line). A standard NACS port, placed on the front passenger side, ensures convenient access.
Inside, the EV4 adopts a minimalist design ethos, highlighted by a panoramic display and a 12-inch head-up display that streamlines access to information. The cabin blends simplicity with practicality, while safety remains a top priority thanks to an advanced suite of driver-assistance systems such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2, Driver Attention Warning, Lane Following Assist 2, Remote Parking Assist Entry, and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist.
Production takes place at Kia’s Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea, with U.S. sales set to begin in early 2026.
The K4 hatch commands attention from the outset, featuring a low-slung, coupe-like profile, flush-mounted rear door handles, and an assertive, athletic stance. Drenched in a vivid Sparkling Yellow, the K4 exudes personality and performance flair, with the integrated C-pillar door handles adding a streamlined, high-end touch.
Step inside, and the K4 embraces a digital-first philosophy. Dominating the cabin is an expansive 30-inch curved display, designed to present vital information and controls in a clean, intuitive format. The tech ecosystem is equally advanced, offering OTA updates, AI-powered voice assistance, wireless smartphone integration, and Digital Key 2.0, creating a highly connected user experience.

Available in three trims – EX, GT-Line, and the range-topping GT-Line Turbo – the K4 caters to a variety of preferences. The GT-Line Turbo delivers a more spirited ride thanks to a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing 190bhp, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Enhanced with a sport-tuned suspension, it promises agile, confident handling. Safety is not an afterthought either – the K4 is equipped with advanced driver aids including a 360-degree surround view system, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Evasive Steering Assist. The K4 is set to land in U.S. showrooms by the end of 2025.
