Having been a part of Japan's auto industry since 1955, the Toyota Crown moniker has developed into a thriving sub-brand that is available in four different body types in the Japanese market. Following a protracted absence, the Crown debuted in North America for the first time in many years in 2022. With the introduction of the 2025 Crown Signia in Los Angeles, Toyota is now extending its lineup even further. The SUV is anticipated to stay under the same name there and is the production version of the firm's Crown Estate concept unveiled last year. However, the carmaker is using the Crown Signia label for the North American market to highlight that it will offer a more opulent experience than other Toyota vehicles. Notably, the Venza, which will be phased out after the current 2024 model year, will essentially be replaced by the brand-new Crown Signia. Read on to learn more about the specs, styling highlights, and features of this two-row SUV.

As for the exterior colour options, there are a total of five attractive shades available - Oxygen White, Storm Cloud, Finish Line Red, Black, and Bronze Age. Furthermore, the model will be offered with either 19- or 21-inch wheels, depending on the variant opted for.

Toyota Crown Signia: Design

The Crown Signia shares a striking visual resemblance with the new Prius and Camry, drawing inspiration from Toyota's latest design philosophy. It has headlamps positioned below the bumper and thin LED DRLS up front. The SUV also features a distinctive grille design with a "hammerhead" nose style. It sports pronounced creases down the sides. The model looks like a full-size sedan due to its lower roofline, small overhangs, and sturdy fender extensions. Lastly, the Signia's stylish LED taillights are connected by an LED bar at the back.

Toyota Crown Signia: Interior and Features

The Crown Signia will come in two variants - XLE and Limited. Apart from 19-inch alloy wheels, the base XLE offers a power liftgate, a six-speaker audio system, a wireless charger, dual 12.3-inch screens (infotainment unit & instrument cluster) in the digital cockpit, power-adjustable heated front fabric seats, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with five USB outlets.

Meanwhile, the premium Limited trim level ups the luxury factor and comprises several other features in addition to the standard ones. These include an enhanced 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, leather-wrapped seats that are heated and ventilated in the front and rear, and 21-inch dark grey alloy wheels.

In terms of safety features, both trims incorporate 8 airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite. On top of that, more advanced features like Lane Change Assist and Traffic Jam Assist, which allow semi-autonomous driving, and the Panoramic View Monitor, which provides a surround view, are included with the optional Advanced Technology package.

Toyota Crown Signia: Powertrain

Only the hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions of the Japanese SUV will be sold in North America, according to a previous confirmation from the manufacturer. The self-charging hybrid system has two electric motors and a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol mill, just like several other Toyota cars. With the aid of the standard electronic on-demand AWD system, this arrangement produces a combined output of 243 horsepower (181 kW / 246 PS), which is sent to all four wheels via an eCVT (electronically controlled continuously variable transmission). The model further has an EV mode that is intended for emissions-free driving “at low speeds and short distances,” complementing the Normal, Eco, and Sport driving modes. However, the automaker has not yet revealed the capacity of the battery pack.
