Toyota has taken the wraps off the ninth-generation Camry HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), and it now gets revised styling, improved performance, as well as a retuned suspension for 'enhanced responsiveness and agile handling'. It comes in two configurations – FWD (front-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) and 4 different trim levels – LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. Expect the refreshed model to arrive at Toyota dealerships in the Spring of 2024.
2025 Toyota Camry: Powertrain
In its new iteration, the Toyota Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine working in tandem with electric motors. The Camry with front-wheel-drive tech features two compact electric motors – sufficient for 222bhp, while Electronic On-Demand AWD-equipped Camrys make 229bhp. The all-wheel-drive system is standard and has a dedicated motor generator at the rear axle rather than a conventional mechanical connection.

Having said that, the Toyota Camry also comes standard with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5), enabling a 'more controllable and engaging driving experience'. Transmission duties are taken care of by an eCVT (electronically controlled continuously variable transmission). Upon launch, the Toyota Camry will be kitted out with a lithium-ion battery pack, however, the company hasn't revealed its specifics yet.
2025 Toyota Camry: Interior
The interior of the new Toyota Camry features a Toyota Audio Multimedia system, consisting of an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB ports, and a wireless phone charger, all offered as standard. A 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster comes standard on lower-spec LE and SE trims, while the higher-end XLE and XSE trims get a standard 12.3-in fully digital gauge cluster, along with a 10.0-inch Head Up Display to allow drivers to check their speed, see warning indicators, and turn-by-turn navigation. Other bits include a 9-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, Intelligent Assistant, front-side acoustic laminated glass, optional heated and ventillated seats, as well as different upholstery options.
2025 Toyota Camry: Safety Features
As far as safety goes, the updated Camry offers Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) as standard. This safety suite includes a lane departure alert, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The presence of additional features, such as traffic jam assist, front cross-traffic alert, lane-change assist, panoramic view monitor, and front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, will further up the car's safety quotient.
2025 Toyota Camry: Exterior
The 2025 Toyota Camry sits on the same TNGA-K platform that also underpins the eighth-generation model. Taking design inspiration from the previous-generation model, the new model sports a massive front grille and slim headlights. However, the 2025 iteration gets standard LED headlamps, daytime running lights, and taillights.
The SE and XSE trims have sporty exterior styling with a sleek roofline and a sculpted body, and they have racing-inspired functional aerodynamic air ducts, front-side canards, and a rear diffuser. The XSE gets a body-colour lower fascia, black trunk garnish, and standard 19-inch multi-spoke black and smoke grey-finished alloy wheels.
