The 2025 Kia Seltos has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time, giving a glimpse of what the refreshed SUV might bring to the table. The test mule reveals several notable design updates, including striking L-shaped LED taillamps, hinting at a bolder rear profile. While the vehicle was camouflaged, subtle tweaks to the overall styling and possible changes to the front fascia are expected, in line with Kia's evolving design philosophy. The updated Seltos is anticipated to build on its existing popularity by incorporating advanced features, improved safety, and potential powertrain upgrades. As Kia works towards bringing this model to the market soon, the spy shots have already sparked excitement among SUV enthusiasts and prospective buyers in India.

2025 Kia Seltos Spied: Key Highlights
In just over four years, the South Korean carmaker has reached an impressive milestone with the Seltos, selling over 5 lakh units in India and exporting more than 1.5 lakh units during the same period. A new test mule of the upcoming facelifted model has been spotted on Indian roads. The heavily camouflaged prototype, showcased in a video by Power Stroke PS on YouTube, hides most of its exterior features. However, the distinctive L-shaped LED taillamps, inspired by the EV9, are visible, echoing earlier spy shots.
Previous images have revealed more updates, including an updated front profile with squared LED headlights, reworked LED DRLs, as well as a revamped grille with vertical slats. Additional changes include two-tone ORVMs, uniquely styled diamond-cut alloys, and a broader, longer stance, enhancing its road presence.
The next-gen Seltos is set to offer a completely redesigned interior with influences from the Kia EV3. It will likely feature updated door trim, orange accents, ambient lighting, and new headrest designs. Although the dashboard and cockpit were concealed, reports suggest a layered design for the dashboard. Additionally, the steering wheel may be revamped from the current three-spoke design to a more modern two-spoke style, enhancing the interior’s feel.

While details about the powertrains are still under wraps, several industry reports indicate that Kia will offer multiple engine options for the new model. This could include turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, along with a petrol-hybrid variant at a later date. The brand earlier hinted at the possibility of launching petrol-hybrid versions in the country. The current-gen Seltos comes with three engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The updated model will likely retain the same turbo petrol and diesel mills.
Kia Cars to Become Expensive from January 1, 2025
Kia India has announced that starting 1 January 2025, it will implement a price increase across its entire range of vehicles. Most variants will experience a price rise of up to 2 per cent. The company attributes the hike to the increasing costs of raw materials and supply chain challenges. Presently, Kia India offers six models: Sonet, Seltos, Carens, Carnival, EV6, and EV9. Additionally, the brand plans to expand its lineup with the launch of the Syros SUV later this month.
