The K5 midsize sedan, formerly referred to as the Optima, has received a mid-cycle refresh nearly five years after the current-generation model marked its debut in the market. The redesigned K5 was unveiled in Korea, with several aesthetic and technical enhancements. In addition to new headlights and taillights, the 2025 iteration of the Kia sedan has undergone significant interior revisions. It is anticipated to hit American shores in the coming months. In a recent development, the Carnival facelift was spotted testing on the Indian roads. The latest set of spy shots provided a sneak peek at the all-new model's significantly revamped exterior design. Meanwhile, here are the key details about the newly debuted K5 sedan.

Kia K5 Facelift: Design Highlights
Since the 2019 debut of the K5 (the substitute for the Optima) received a positive response for its style, Kia designers likely refrained from making significant outward modifications. Rather, they updated the LED graphics on the headlights and taillights to match the updated front and back bumpers. The rear ducktail spoiler is more noticeable, and the front intakes resemble those of the Kia EV6 GT-Line. Lastly, two new exterior paint jobs—Moonscape Matte Grey and Wolf Grey—as well as new alloy wheel options are available.
For those who want a more sombre appearance for their Kia K5, there is an optional package available called "Black Fit". It includes a black suede headliner, a pair of black 18- or 19-inch wheels, and dark finishes on the mirror caps, rear diffuser, and tailpipes.
Kia K5 Facelift: Powertrain Options
The mechanical adjustments made to the car only involve a new suspension design that enhances ride comfort and sound absorption. A naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre MPi with 156bhp, a turbocharged 1.6-litre T-GDi with 175.5bhp, a 2.0-litre LPi with 142bhp, and the more efficient Hybrid with a combined output of 190bhp constitute the available powertrain options for the Korean-spec model.
Kia K5 Facelift: Interior and Features
Speaking of the cabin layout, the revamped Kia K5 has a more streamlined panoramic curved display inside that integrates two 12.3-inch panels and lacks physical buttons. With the optional KRELL 12-speaker premium sound system, the new infotainment unit offers conveniences like over-the-air updates compatibility, remote control functions from the user's smartphone, a fingerprint verification system, and music streaming services. Furthermore, one can find the updated air conditioning controls, a wireless charging pad, and the significantly smaller automatic gearbox selector located below. Lastly, three new colour options—Sand, Martian Brown, and Black—can be used to customise the interior upholstery.

Kia K5 Facelift: Price and Availability
The order books for the facelifted K5 sedan are currently open in Korea. The price for the car begins at 27.84 Won or roughly $20,500 (about Rs 17.07 lakh) at present exchange rates. However, the cost may vary depending on the variant and engine opted for. Based on the pre-facelifted model, the US-spec 2024 Kia K5 was unveiled a few months ago, so the modifications will likely be implemented for the North American version for the next model year.
