2025 Jeep Meridian vs Tata Safari Spec Comparison: Variants and Price

The 2025 Jeep Meridian lineup starts with the new entry-level Longitude trim and continues up to the Overland trim, just like before. Besides this, the Limited (O) trim has been introduced in the middle of the range. Therefore, the Meridian is now available in four variants: Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O), and Overland. The price of the car starts at Rs 24.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 36.49 lakh.

The Tata Safari, on the other hand, comes in ten trim level options: Smart(O), Pure (O), Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure+ Dark, Accomplished, Accomplished Dark, Accomplished+ Dark, Adventure+ A, and Accomplished+. The SUV retails for between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 26.79 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

The updated Meridian continues to be equipped with a 2-litre diesel engine, delivering 167bhp at 3,750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1,750 and 2,500rpm. This mill is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic torque converter. True to its Jeep heritage, the Meridian is available in 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains.

Under the hood, the Safari houses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel motor, which produces 168bhp of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices include a six-speed torque converter automatic and a six-speed manual. The SUV achieves a fuel economy of 14.50km/l with an automatic transmission and 16.30km/l with a manual gearbox.

The new Meridian is equipped with various advanced technologies, including Level 2 ADAS, and comes standard on the top-tier Overland variant. This suite includes features such as Intelligent Speed Assist, Full Speed Forward Collision Warning with Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Detection, Driver Attention Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go functionality. Additional highlights of the SUV encompass dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors complemented by a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Meridian also offers a comprehensive array of connected car technologies, including Alexa Home connectivity. Notably, the specific features available can differ between trim levels.

Coming to the features of the Tata model, it offers either a 10.25-inch or a 12.3-inch touchscreen, depending on the trim level. Additional features include ventilated first and second-row seats, a new drive selector for automatic variants, a panoramic sunroof, a touch-based HVAC control panel, a 10-speaker JBL-tuned setup, a 360-degree camera, a rotary drive selector knob with a digital display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, rear window shades, and dual-zone climate control. Standard features come in the form of electronic stability control, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS with EBD, three-point seat belts with reminders for all passengers, and hill hold control. Higher-spec models also feature an additional driver knee airbag. Furthermore, the Adventure+ A, Accomplished+, and Accomplished+ Dark variants boast the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as standard.
