The 2025 iteration of the BMW M5 has finally adopted electrification, combining the renowned twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V-8 (569bhp) with a single electric motor (191bhp) that generates an astounding 707bhp and 1001Nm. Interestingly, these power ratings outperform the outgoing M5 CS, which produces 618bhp and 749Nm. Aside from the hybrid setup, another major talking point about the new M5 is its weight. The sedan now weighs 2,445 kg, which is more than the outgoing M5, weighing 1,971 kg. The new M5 can reach 100km/h from zero in 3.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 250km/h, which can be raised to 305.7km/h with the M Driver's Package. On the flip side, The car's 14.8-KWh battery allows for about 40 kilometres of electric range. 2025 BMW M5: Other Powertrain and Chassis Highlights
The M5 has five drive modes, including Electric, Hybrid (the default mode), the eControl battery-saver mode, Dynamic, and Dynamic Plus modes. The last two are only accessible with the extra M Drive Professional package and are designed for track use.
Additionally, the car now offers three levels of shift aggressiveness, allowing drivers to adjust chassis, throttle mapping, transmission, steering, and brakes. The all-wheel-drive system can also be altered, enabling the driver to decide how much power is sent to the front and back axles. A new boost control function is also available, which can be activated by pushing the left-hand shift paddle between 32km/h and 144km/h.
The new M5 boasts more cross-bracing beneath the bonnet, stronger suspension mounts, and sturdier body construction. It has double wishbones at the front and a multi-link arrangement in the back for suspension. The sedan rolls on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. It sports 6-piston fixed brake calipers up front and single-piston floating calipers in the back. The front and back rotors are enormous, measuring 16.1 inches and 15.7 inches, respectively.
2025 BMW M5: Interior Equipment
The interior of the M5 appears to be the same as any other 5-series car, with a noticeable increase in carbon fibre. It has the most recent version of BMW's Curved Display, a head-up display, four-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charging tray, a M multifunction seat with electric adjustment, a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel with illuminated M buttons, and a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.
2025 BMW M5: Design
The new M5's design is strikingly comparable to its predecessor. With sharper angular surfaces, the sedan is based on BMW's most recent design philosophy. It includes a dynamic bumper, LED headlights with a new DRL signature, a grille with an illuminated frame, a diffuser, quad exhausts, and a set of thin LED taillights.

2025 BMW M5: Availability
The new BMW M5 is set to make its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Priced at $120,675 (Rs 1 crore) will go on sale worldwide in November.
