Auto China 2024 is scheduled to be held from April 25 to May 4 in Beijing. However, the BMW Group night event is slated for a day before (April 24), when the world will witness the official unveiling of the facelifted BMW i4 sedan based on the 4 Series Gran Coupe. BMW has yet to reveal details about this new i4. However, spy shots have shown a tweaked grille, a revised front bumper, and redesigned headlights with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lights). While laser tail-lights are found on the 4 Series Coupe and Convertible, we do not know whether this feature will be available with the facelifted i4.
On the inside, the 2025 BMW i4 is expected to offer a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a new infotainment system that runs on the iDrive 8.5 operating system. One can also expect the car to feature new upholstery for the seats, updated ambient lighting, and redesigned central air vents. Performance-wise, we may see BMW bring some upgrades to the vehicle.
However, the 2025 BMW i4 facelift will not go all alone in the upcoming Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. It will be accompanied by the Mini Aceman, images of which surfaced online late last month. The Aceman, Mini's first EV, will slot between the Cooper and the Countryman. Like the Cooper, the Aceman will utilise Mini's Spotlight platform developed in partnership with Great Wall Motor. Two battery packs – 40kWh and 54kWh – will likely be on offer. These will send power to a front-axle-mounted electric motor, developing either 180bhp or 215bhp. While range details are yet to be disclosed, the Aceman could offer up to 400km on a single charge.
BMW i4 Facelift: Likely to Arrive in India in 2025
There is no word on Mini bringing the Aceman to the Indian market, but the BMW i4 is sold here at Rs 72.50 lakh (ex-showroom). In iDrive40 guise, the current BMW i4 makes 335bhp and 430Nm of peak torque, and its 80.7kWh battery claims a WLTP-tested range of 493-590km on a single charge. 0 to 100km/h comes up in a claimed time of 5.7 seconds.
The BMW i4, in its new avatar, is expected to arrive in the country in 2025. Upon that, it will join the new BYD Seal in the segment (starts at Rs 41 lakh, ex-showroom).
