As one of the best luxury grand tourers on the market for the past 21 years, Bentley's Continental GT has made a name for itself. The model continues to be a must-have for any ardent car enthusiast, as it is built to cover long distances across continents with the highest level of comfort and performance. Bentley Motors has now unveiled the fourth generation Continental GT Speed, adding to the company's impressive history. Far from straying from the renowned carmaker's roots, it is the most powerful road-going Bentley ever built.

With its new Ultra Performance Hybrid drivetrain, expected to push the Continental GT Speed's performance to new heights, the revamped exterior and interior aesthetics adhere to Bentley's new design DNA, as evidenced by the coachbuilt Bentley Baclar and Batur. The GT Speed's technology has also been updated. It now boasts class-leading capabilities for connected car services, infotainment, and driving assistance – an essential update for any contemporary grand tourer.

2025 Bentley Continental GT: Powertrain

The notable engine that has propelled every Continental since its introduction in 2003 has been replaced by a plug-in hybrid V8 in the new GT. With the same 4.0-litre engine as before, the V8 produces 592bhp and 800Nm. The combined power of the gearbox-integrated electric motor, which produces 187bhp and 450Nm of torque, is 771bhp, which is 100bhp more than the W12. An eight-speed automatic gearbox distributes torque to all four wheels after increasing by 100Nm to reach the 1,000Nm mark. The brakes on each individual axle and the centre differential control active torque vectoring.

The car takes 3.2 seconds to reach 100km/h and 6.9 seconds to reach 160km/h. The top speed stands at 335km/h. Additionally, there is a pure EV mode that allows the vehicle to reach 160km/h when the throttle is at 75 per cent. Furthermore, the Bentley model boasts an electric-only range of 80 km. With 420mm front and 380mm rear discs, the car probably has the biggest cast iron brakes found on a production vehicle. All-around air springs handle suspension chores, and the new GT has twin-valve dampers as standard.

2025 Bentley Continental GT: Design Cues

With the 2025 Continental GT Speed, Bentley has opted for a "cleaner" design language. Even though the vehicle is instantly identifiable as a Continental GT model, a closer look reveals a much more fluid overall design with a few surface breaks. The Bentley Continental GT range of grand tourers was first introduced in 2003 and has been an integral part of the British carmaker's history for more than 20 years. When Bentley introduced the first-generation Bentley Continental GT Speed in 2007, the product line underwent a major overhaul. This modified version of the standard Continental GT had higher engine power and torque numbers.

Another significant change, and possibly a surprising one, is Bentley's decision to do away with the conventional twin headlamp layout. Considering that this is the first mainstream Bentley to have a single headlamp since 1959, the change is very substantial. The brand-new horizontal "eyebrow" cut that flows from the headlamp onto the vehicle's flanks is another striking design feature.

The 2025 GT Speed also boasts a revised rear end, complete with updated exhaust pipes, boot lids, and taillights. The model also features 22-inch wheels in a dark finish with polished accents.

2025 Bentley Continental GT: What's Inside?

Given that the interior looks to have been mainly carried over from the third-generation Continental GT, the fourth generation is more of a complete revamp. Nevertheless, Bentley engineers installed the most recent ADAS, revamped the infotainment system with wireless connectivity and OTA updates, and enhanced the sound insulation. With the 12.3-inch screen attached to one of its three faces, the model nevertheless sports the Bentley Rotating Display.

The 20-way adjustable seats and the new quilt pattern on the upholstery, are among the interior highlights. The cabin features premium materials much like all other models produced by the Crewe facility. On top of that, several new colour and trim options are also available, such as the "Dark Chrome" pack, which is supposed to give the cabin a darker tone. Moreover, there will be three different audio systems on offer, with the entry-level configuration including 10 speakers and 650 watts. Two upgrade options can be had above this: an 18-speaker, 2200-watt Naim setup, and a 16-speaker, 1500-watt Bang & Olufsen system with illuminated speaker grilles.
