Tata Motors has been quite busy this year with a slew of crucial and eagerly-awaited launches. Following the arrival of the facelifts of several popular cars such as the Nexon, the Nexon.ev, the Harrier, and the Safari, the Indian automaker is now gearing up to prepare yet another product for the Indian market. The Curvv SUV coupe was recently spotted undergoing testing in its production-ready form on Indian lanes. In January this year, Tata Motors displayed the Curvv Concept in a near-production stage during the 2023 Auto Expo. The new SUV will have a coupe-like silhouette and will be built on the Nexon's modified architecture. It will sit between the Nexon and the Harrier in the firm's India lineup as a more premium product. Most likely, the model will be available for purchase by mid-2024. Meanwhile, here's all that you can expect from this upcoming product when it comes to features, performance, and other factors.

2024 Tata Curvv: Exterior Design

The Tata Curvv was initially spied testing in July this year, and it has since been seen again as the SUV nears production form. However, the latest test mule included numerous fresh design cues and was comparatively less camouflaged. The car's roofline is similar to those of high-end SUV coupes like Audi and Mercedes-Benz in the test mule that was spotted. Styling elements from its concept form can be observed as well, including split-LED headlights with a sleek LED DRL across the whole of the bonnet. This setup is also present on the updated iterations of the Safari, the Nexon, and the Harrier.

The Curvv will have a robust front grille, akin to the current Nexon EV, in its electric version. In addition, the test mule shows different alloy wheels than the concept exhibited at the Auto Expo. Indications of flush-style door handles, a high-set window line, and a sloping rear roofline were also seen. It is predicted that the rear end will feature slimmer LED taillights joined by a light bar.

2024 Tata Curvv: Interior Layout and Feature Set

Even though the most recent round of spy photos did not reveal anything about the Tata SUV-coupe's cabin, we do anticipate that it will resemble the interior of the new Nexon. As a result, elements like the new touch-based temperature control panel, two sizable screens, and a contemporary steering wheel with an illuminated "Tata" emblem might be included.

Going into further details, the Curvv is expected to have a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display like the one found in the Nexon and the Nexon EV, cruise control, a touch-based panel for automatic air conditioning, ventilated seats, push-button start/stop, and a panoramic sunroof, among other features.

Moving on to the safety net of the car, it boasts amenities like advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), up to six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and blind spot assist.

2024 Tata Curvv: Mechanical Specifications

The new 1.2-litre petrol turbocharged engine in the Tata Curvv produces 123bhp of maximum power and 225Nm of peak torque. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) utilised in the Nexon facelift may be one of the available gearbox options, though this has not yet been confirmed. Additionally, prospective buyers who prefer a cost-effective option could have access to the diesel engine. With regards to its electric variant, a range of up to 500-kilometre is claimed. While details on the electric drivetrain are still fairly few, we do know it will be constructed on the car manufacturer's Gen2 platform. Furthermore, the Curvv EV is likely to debut ahead of the petrol-powered version of the SUV.
