The Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto has recently dropped the veil on new details with respect to its fourth-generation Superb model, including engine options, specifications, features, and more. The 2024 Skoda Superb will make its public appearance soon in November 2023 as a wagon (Superb Estate) and a sedan. For the model year 2024, the Superb will offer more interior space than before and will be available with a choice of three petrol, two diesel, and one plug-in hybrid option. Notably, a 1.5-litre turbocharged mild-hybrid mill (with 148bhp) will be offered for the first time. And, all engines of the Superb will come mated to an automatic DSG unit as standard, save for the plug-in hybrid unit. The new Skoda Superb will be manufactured alongside the 2024 Volkswagen Passat variant at a Volkswagen Group facility in Bratislava, Slovakia.

2024 Skoda Superb: Drivetrain
The fourth-generation Skoda Superb will get 6 powertrain options – three petrol units, two diesels, and a new plug-in hybrid option. When running on petrol, the new Superb will either come powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged mild-hybrid mill with 148bhp or a 2.0-litre TSI unit in two states of tune: 201bhp in the front-wheel-drive and 261bhp in the all-wheel-drive avatar. Those looking to buy the diesel-powered model will have an option of a 2.0-litre motor, also available in two different states of tune. The entry-level diesel unit will churn out 148bhp (FWD), while the more powerful version will produce 190bhp (AWD).
Last but not least, the plug-in-hybrid Superb iV will receive a 1.5-litre TSI unit and an electric motor. The combined power output stands at 201bhp. A larger 25.7kWh battery pack will be offered with the PHEV, up from a 12.7kWh battery on the outgoing model. As a result, the Superb Estate will have a claimed driving range of up to 100km on a single charge. According to Skoda, the PHEV will allow 50kW DC fast charging, in addition to AC charging with a range of 3.6kW to 11kW.
2024 Skoda Superb: Gearbox Options
Note that all of the models will come mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission as standard, with the exception of the plug-in hybrid model that will come paired with a 6-speed DSG.
2024 Skoda Superb: Exterior Details
On the looks front, the new Superb will maintain pronounced cuts & creases and conventional proportions. Furthermore, the car is likely to have a butterfly grille, L-shaped LED headlights, a longer roof, and an upright rear section. Moreover, the new-generation Superb will receive evolutionary styling upgrades. Dimensionally, the sedan will measure 4,912mm in length, and the wagon will stand at 4,902mm in terms of length - representing an increase of 43mm and 40mm, respectively.
However, both versions will be 15mm narrower and will stand at 1,849mm in terms of width. The sedan will stand tall at 1,481mm, whereas the wagon's height will be increased by 5mm, to 1,482mm. The wheelbase remains unaltered at 2,841mm.
2024 Skoda Superb: Interior, Features
On the inside, the 2024 Skoda Super will offer a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument console. Besides, the 2024 model is expected to come with modifications, such as positioning the gearshift onto the steering column for more space. Boot space will be raised by 20 litres for the sedan and 30 litres for the Estate.
Other bits include an electrically operated roller blind for the Super Estate, a new rear centre armrest with a built-in holder, a double storage pocket on the back of the front seats, an umbrella in the driver's door, and an integrated funnel in the windscreen washer fluid reservoir – a first for the Superb.
2024 Skoda Superb: Safety Gear
As far as safety goes, the 2024 Superb will come equipped with 10 airbags, including a central airbag and a knee airbag for the driver. Moreover, it will also offer improved ADAS functionalities (advanced driver assistance systems), such as turn assist and intersection assistant. Also, the car's radar-based crossroad assist system will be able to detect approaching vehicles, while the Top View function with four cameras will offer a 360-degree view in a high resolution.
