2024 Porsche Cayenne Front Design Teased Ahead of Global Debut on April 18

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne will be unveiled tomorrow at Auto Shanghai 2023. In India, the SUV will mark its entry a few months later of its global debut. When launched in our market, it will compete with the Range Rover Sport, the BMW X5, the Mercedes-Benz GLE, and more.

Porsche, a luxury sports car manufacturer, has teased the facelift version of the Cayenne ahead of its global debut on April 18. In the final teaser, the carmaker showcased the updated front fascia of the SUV. A while ago, the automaker shared teasers of the interior. In our market, the third-generation Porsche Cayenne was launched in 2018. According to industry reports, the redesigned model will mark its presence in the country by the end of this year. Coming to the fresh teaser, the automaker has partially revealed the exterior. The luxury SUV will feature reworked headlamps with advanced technology. Inside, the upcoming SUV draws design cues from the Taycan EV and places a stronger emphasis on driver engagement. Let's know more about the facelift version of the Cayenne, which will be showcased at Auto Shanghai 2023.

2024 Porsche Cayenne: Exterior & Interior 

Outside, the facelift model sports HD matrix headlights, which include an astounding 16,384 individually programmable micro-LEDs on a surface area the size of a thumbnail. Each of them is housed in its chip, which has two, for each headlight, resulting in a total of four per car.  When set to a high beam, the new headlamps can illuminate the road for up to 600 metres (approximately 2,000 ft). To prevent blinding the approaching driver, they also have a non-dazzling function.

Since just the appropriate pixels are illuminated, according to Porsche, these headlights are more energy-efficient. There is an upper strip of daytime running lights on each of the four modules. The ones up top are identical and have three LEDs each for the auxiliary high beam and courtesy lighting. The bottom modules' light distribution overlaps in the middle, and each contains a unique set of lenses to create various illumination angles.

The license plate will be moved lower on the bumper to mimic the Cayenne Coupe. Further, there will be a redesigned light bar with a fresh design at the rear. Speaking of the interior, as mentioned, the model follows the design of the Taycan EV. The 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster, and an optional touchscreen in front of the passenger make up the Cayenne SUV's dashboard.

2024 Porsche Cayenne: Powertrain

Mechanically, a 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6 petrol engine, capable of producing 349bhp and 500Nm, will be available in the Cayenne from Porsche. Further, a modified version of the 4.0-litre V8 will power the Turbo GT model, producing 651bhp and 850Nm. The Cayenne S, on the other hand, will come equipped with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, capable of generating produces 469bhp and 600Nm. This model is not currently sold in India. 

The plug-in hybrid versions of the SUV will receive a new gearbox-mounted electric motor, capable of delivering 174bhp when coupled to a slightly adjusted, 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine (300bhp). However, the overall output will be 464bhp and 650Nm. The e-Hybrid models' batteries will have a capacity increase of 25.9 kWh. It will boost charging speeds up to 11 kW and have an electric-only range of up to 80 kilometre.

2024 Porsche Cayenne: India Launch

Right now, there is no update on the India launch of the SUV. Several market reports reveal that the luxury carmaker will bring the redesigned Cayenne into our market after some time of its global debut, which is all set to take place on April 18.
