Mercedes-Benz has revealed the first set of pictures of the interior of the next-generation E-Class, prior to the car's global debut. The premium carmaker not only gives us a sneak peek of the luxury sedan's new MBUX 'Superscreen', but also provides an immersive in-cabin experience with intelligent features. The updated MBUX system combines a free-standing digital instrument cluster with an infotainment system and optional passenger displays. In its new avatar, the Superscreen is based on the MBUX Hyperscreen that is already offered in electric car models such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS and the EQE. The Superscreen display is 5G-enabled as standard, for a quicker and smarter user of connected car technology.

The upcoming sedan's three-screen setup is similar to the EQS. However, the digital driver's display in the E-Class is separately mounted from the infotainment system and optional co-driver's screen. The new car comes with a set of slimmer wrap-around style aircon vents that merge with the dashboard layout. Further, there is also an optional camera that is mounted on top of the dash. This new development enables the owner to take selfies or hold video conferences, only when the car is parked.
The MBUX system in the E-Class also comes equipped with the brand's 'Hey Mercedes' AI voice assistant. While the technical details of the latest MBUX are not known, it is claimed to provide faster processing power and more seamless operation than previous versions.
Additionally, the new MBUX allows for the installation of third-party applications such as TikTok, Webex, Zoom, and so on. There is a dual light control (DLC) technology that not only allows the passengers to watch content on the passenger display but also prevents the content from being seen by the driver
The interior of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class gets an advanced Active Ambient Lighting with Sound Visualisation that works with a music system from Burmester. Now, you can program or automatically change the lighting based on the audio or rhythm of the song. Besides, the new ambient light system can be used as a warning for functions such as the intersection approach system, parking assistant, and brake assist.

Another notable element is a new head-up display unit that gets a larger field and new augmented-reality functions. The new E-Class will be available with artificial intelligence software that makes the MBUX adapt itself to the personal habits of the driver.
Exterior-wise, the 2024 sedan will be offered in a fresh design with new headlamps. It will also get a larger grille in multiple designs. Also new to the car is the steering wheel design with a multifunction double barrel three-spoked design. The car is expected to mark a global debut later this year, while the India launch is anticipated sometime in 2024.
