2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 43, GT 53 Four-Door Coupe Unveiled

The newly unveiled 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 43 and the GT 53 coupes sport a large radiator grille up front, a wide air intake, wind deflectors, redesigned headlights, and a revised front apron.

Mercedes-AMG has recently revealed the 2024 GT 43 and the GT 53 models for international markets. The coupe versions of the Mercedes-AMG models get (tech and) feature updates and sport a redesigned styling that looks identical to the V8-powered models. However, the four-door coupes continue to use a 3.0-litre, turbocharged, inline-six-cylinder engine and come equipped with 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system providing enhanced vehicle stability and reducing accident risks. A few weeks ago, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance was introduced in the Indian market as the company's first plug-in hybrid AMG. Based on the standard GT 63 S 4-door coupe, the 63 S E Performance carries a price tag of Rs 3.30 crore (ex-showroom). The fastback can sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 316km/h. It also receives 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system that provides fully variable torque distribution.

2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 43, GT 53: Exterior Details

On the looks front, the Mercedes-AMG GT models draw inspiration from the V8-powered models that borrow styling cues from the AMG GT Black series. The newly unveiled GT models get a large radiator grille up front, a wide air intake, wind deflectors, and redesigned headlights. Furthermore, there is a redesigned front apron and rear diffuser that looks identical to the GT 63 model. In all, the new models, the company says, imitate a 'jet-wing' profile.

On the inside, the 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 43 and the GT 53 feature an updated MBUX infotainment system, a digital gauge cluster, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, an electric sliding sunroof, foldable rear seats, a wireless charging pad between the rear seats, and an optional Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos technology. 

In terms of safety, the feature list includes lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 43, GT 53: Powertrain & Performance

The 4-door AMG GT 43 and the GT 53 come fitted with a 3.0-litre, turbocharged, inline-six-cylinder engine. The GT 43 makes 362bhp of power and 500Nm of torque and sends power to all four wheels (4MATIC). While the GT 53 4MATIC generates 429bhp of maximum power and 520Nm of peak torque. The coupes are offered with a mild-hybrid setup, which helps deliver an extra 21bhp and 250Nm during hard acceleration. Also comes handy with the AMG GT 43 and the GT 53 is the Mercedes-AMG's 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system that ensures optimal traction and stability on the road. 

In terms of mileage, the GT 43 and the GT 53 can yield about 8.07 to10.62 km/l when going full throttle in a city or on a highway.
